Ende August 2015 bekam ich den Auftrag, anhand eines Fotos das Portrait zu zeichnen. Noch am selben Tag begann ich mit der Arbeit, während im Hintergrund der Fernseher lief. Zufällig hörte ich die Nachricht von dem vor kurzem entzifferten Voynich-Manuskript, und es stellte sich heraus, dass das Manuskript von Phytophysiotherapeut, Diplomat, Hofdichter und Schriftsteller Johannes Hartlieb (1402 - 1468) im Schloss Blutenburg verfasst wurde. In dem Manuskript beschrieb er die Geschichte des Schlosses, einschließlich der geheimen Heiltechnologien, die er dort verwendete. Doktor Johannes Hartlieb wurde als Leibarzt, gelehrter Rat und damit Diplomat Herzog Albrechts III. von Bayern-München aufgenommen. Augsburger Arzt, Schriftsteller und Antiquar Karl Widemann (1555 - 1637) kaufte das Voynich-Manuskript von der Familie Hartlieb und verkaufte diese Handschrift neben anderen seltenen Büchern 1599 an Kaiser Rudolf II.
